Peer Review Program FAQs
It is a confidential and electronic system that allows CUNY peers to review a proposal and provide feedback based on the funding agency’s criteria. Through the program, principal investigators incorporate the feedback received from peers to strengthen their proposal.
Qualified CUNY and/or non-CUNY faculty with knowledge in the relevant field will be selected to provide feedback on a proposal. Generally, 2-3 reviewers will review the grant proposal to ensure it meets specific criteria.
Grant proposals being submitted to NSF or NIH should be available to reviewers 5 weeks before the agency submission due date.
Each reviewer must read and acknowledge the online Confidentiality and Privacy Statement before accessing the proposal. If the statement is not signed, the reviewer will be unable to access the proposal.
