The Research Foundation of CUNY’s Office of Award Pre-Proposal Support (APPS) is a great resource for Postdoctoral researchers at CUNY. The team hosts webinars and provides information on external funding opportunities. The following is a curated subsection of the resources available on this website.
Upcoming Webinar: NIH Grant Programs for CUNY Postdoctoral Researchers
April 23, 2025 (12 Noon – 1 PM)
Overview: The purpose of this webinar is to describe the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA)
Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (F32) program which supports research training of highly promising postdoctoral candidates who have the potential to become productive, independent investigators in scientific health-related research relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. These fellowships are designed specifically for candidates proposing research that does not involve leading an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or an ancillary clinical trial, but does allow candidates to propose research experience in a clinical trial led by a sponsor or co-sponsor. The research and training plans are expected to provide the candidate with a strong understanding of research design, experimental methods, quantitative approaches, and data analysis. Applications are expected to incorporate exceptional mentorship. The training plan should document the need for, and the anticipated value
of the proposed mentored training in relationship to the individual’s research career goals.
Audience: All CUNY Postdoctoral Researchers in all disciplines directly or indirectly related to health
