This fall, the Research Foundation of the City University of New York (RFCUNY) is pleased to offer a series of training sessions focused on the topics that we have heard from for OneRF users are the most critical as we look toward the new academic year.  

This fall’s training will consist of webinar-style demonstrations, each focused on a key functional area featuring key workflows. We will also have RFCUNY subject matter experts on hand to answer questions at each session. All sessions will be recorded and RFCUNY will make the recordings available on an on-demand basis. 

Orientation to OneRF, Customization, & the Grants Report Dashboard 

September 30, 2026 | 2:00-3:30 pm | Register Today 

This webinar will be appropriate for new users, as well as individuals who might need to refresh their understanding of OneRF. It will feature a high-level walk-through of the OneRF platform before presenting options for navigating OneRF, customizing the homepage, and using the search tools. Presenters will provide details on accessing additional training materials available on the RFCUNY website as well as how to use the case management functionality of OneRF. Finally, the session will explore the new reporting features in OneRF, including how to access the Reports Dashboard, and an orientation to the reports. 

OneRF Human Resources Session I: Time Tracking & Payroll

This webinar is designed for any OneRF user who enters or approves time sheets or interacts in other ways with payroll, such as RFCUNY field staff, managers, Principal Investigators, Authorized Signatories, and Human Resources coordinators.  Key topics in this session will include updating work schedules, completing and approving timesheets, and entering timesheets for individuals who have multiple appointments. Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with RFCUNY’s Human Resources team.  

OneRF Human Resources Session II: Hiring & Onboarding 

October 2, 2026 | 2:00-3:30 pm | Register Today 

This webinar is designed especially for managers and other OneRF users involved in the hiring process, such as Principal Investigators, Authorized Signatories, and Grants Officers. Key topics will include onboarding new staff, understanding and completing personnel requisitions, hiring, and onboarding workflows. Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with RFCUNY’s Human Resources team.  

OneRF Procurement & Payables Session I: Stipends 

October 7, 2026 | 2:00-3:30 pm | Register Today 

The first of two consecutive procurement sessions, this session will be helpful for any OneRF user who interacts with the stipend process, including Principal Investigators, Authorized Signatories, and Grants Officers.  It will provide a look at key processes related to the new stipend process including demonstrations of the workflows. Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with RFCUNY’s Procurement and Payables team.  

OneRF Procurement & Payables Session II: Purchasing, Invoicing & Requisition 

October 8, 2026 | 2:00-3:30 pm | Register Today 

The second of two consecutive procurement sessions, this session will be helpful for any OneRF user involved in the purchasing process, including Principal Investigators, Authorized Signatories, and Grants Officers. Presenters will cover how to use the OneRF catalog, understanding the invoicing workflow, and details on the requisition processes. Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with RFCUNY’s Procurement and Payables team. 

Expense Reporting in OneRF 

October 9, 2026 | 2:00-3:30 pm | Register Today 

This session will be helpful for individuals who use OneRF for expense reporting.  Presenters will cover topics including PI out-of-pocket reimbursements, P-Card reconciliation, and spend authorizations. Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with members of both RFCUNY’s Procurement and Payables team and finance team. 

Supplier Registration in OneRF 

October 16, 2026 | 10:00-11:30 am | Register Today 

This session will answer questions on how the supplier registration process works in OneRF.  Suitable for staff, students, trainees, and others who receive or provide stipends, this session will cover the essential details necessary to complete the registration process.  Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with members of RFCUNY’s Procurement and Payables team. 

In addition to the sessions listed above, RFCUNY is providing two specialized webinars for key audiences.  

New Faculty Orientation to RFCUNY 

October 15, 2026 | 1:30-3:00 pm | Register Today 

A specialized orientation for new CUNY faculty members (hired within the last three years). The session is tailored to equip faculty with the practical knowledge needed to work productively with colleagues at RFCUNY. Participants will meet the RFCUNY leaders, learn how to manage grant-funded projects, understand RFCUNY administrative systems, and review ways to access our support services. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the key personnel at RFCUNY. 

Orientation to OneRF for Graduate Students and Post-Doctoral Fellows

This special webinar is dedicated to CUNY graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Key topics will include how to use work scheduling functionality; how to request days off; how to create and submit a timesheet; and information about additional training materials and guidance. Time will be left at the end of the session for questions and answers with members of the RFCUNY team.
