The Research Foundation of the City University of New York (RFCUNY) would like to welcome the CUNY community back for the fall semester.

New this year, RFCUNY will host a webinar specially designed for new CUNY faculty.

Webinar: RFCUNY-101 Webinar for New CUNY Faculty
September 30, 2025 from 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Join us for a specialized orientation to kick start your career as a new CUNY faculty member (hired within the last three years). The session is tailored to equip you with the practical knowledge needed to thrive in both teaching and research. You will meet the RFCUNY administrators, learn how to better manage grant-funded projects, be exposed to the RFCUNY administrative systems, and review ways to access the critical pre-award and post-award support services that will help you secure funding and advance your scholarly work. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the people and build relationships with the key personnel that are dedicated to your success at CUNY.

In addition, the RFCUNY website has a wealth of helpful information publicly available for all our partners, including the following:

  • RFCUNY Overview – this page has general information on our work as a fiscal agent performing the core functions of post-award financial management for CUNY research projects and sponsored programs.
  • Information for postdoctoral students – RFCUNY maintains a directory of useful information on behalf of the CUNY Postdoctoral Association (CUNYPDA).
  • New Award Pre-Proposal Support (APPS) Resources such as new award opportunities and a suite of webinars scheduled for this fall on topics ranging from navigating the current Federal funding landscape to guidance for new and junior CUNY faculty.

Principal Investigators (PIs) and returning staff on CUNY’s 26 campuses, have access to more resources when they log in to our website (on the upper right-hand corner of the website). Authorized users can access all the content and materials included in the following sections of our main navigation:

  • Principal Investigators – learn how to manage an award and all related guidelines and procedures.
  • Training Section – access video training, user guides, and documentation for our processes and systems.
  • Electronic Tools – access our systems to request payments, process requests, and submit other information to our electronic systems including HR, hiring, timesheets, and payroll.
  • Request a Login - authorized users can access Web Reports and various E-Systems through our website to manage sponsor programs and CUNY funds.
