Overview and Agenda

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a transformative technology that requires global, interdisciplinary cooperation to ensure ethical development and societal benefit. This forum, hosted by the Research Foundation of CUNY (RFCUNY) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), is designed to set up a strategic dialogue between leading Japanese and American researchers on key AI challenges. The forum is structured for maximal interaction, featuring presentations from senior CUNY and JSPS officials, and includes CUNY and Japanese faculty with research backgrounds in AI. These groups will be discussing JSPS programs and sharing research interests that can translate into projects suitable for joint US-Japan funding mechanisms. The President of the CUNY Graduate Center will be the keynote presenter who will present on Empire AI, a New York State public-private partnership setting up New York's global leadership in this field making AI research easily accessible to academic and public interest researchers.
