General Description
Organizing/Research in Latin America
- On the ground convening and communication in the region in preparation for the TUED South interregional meeting in Buenos Aires, October 2024.
- Continue to recruit new unions to TUED (Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa have been “growth regions” for the project in the post-lockdown period
- Identify and pursue opportunities to build relationships between unions and other social movements (eg: climate justice, indigenous, rural/farmer organizations, etc.)
- Represent TUED at trade union events. Where opportunities arise, present on the public pathway perspective.
- Offer technical support for unions engaged in climate and energy-related campaigns to defend or extend public control over energy
- Liaise with progressive labor-oriented research groups in the region
- Develop and maintain a database for general contacts, distribution and outreach of TUED work
- Maintain database of contacts, including spreadsheets for fundraising and communications
- Support efforts to solicit annual financial contributions from unions and manage related records
- Maintain frequent contact with Latin American participants, primarily over Whatsapp; keep them updated and engaged

- Support the growth of TUED South work in sub-Saharan Africa and the Asia-Pacific Region
- Develop TUED’s interventions in global spaces (eg: UNFCCC/COP gatherings
Communications
- Develop communications messaging for TUED
- Lead the management and upkeep of the TUED website.
- Lead on the development of TUED Bulletins
- Format, translate, and distribute TUED Bulletins through Mailchimp and social media
- Brainstorm content of TUED Bulletins with the team
- Review translated (into Spanish) TUED documents, including bulletins and working papers
- Work with the team to promote TUED Global Forums and other TUED events
- Provide EN<>ES interpretation in all TUED Global Forums and meetings
- Create and implement a social media strategy for TUED, delivering increased engagement metrics
- Maintain a frequent social media presence, engaging with TUED participants and sharing their statements for their increased visibility
- Co-host the TUED Radio podcast; edit and upload the TUED Radio podcast episodes; distribute on social media and podcast platforms
- Create clips and videos from TUED events
Qualifications
- BA or above
- Proficiency in Spanish and French preferred
- Document management and layout capabilities
- Strong communication skills, including social media

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
