General Description
The Office of Research at The City University of New York (CUNY) is seeking a part time Research Administration and Compliance Specialist. Reporting to the Research Compliance Manager, the Specialist will be responsible for various functions, as follows: i) 33% in support of Director, Sponsored Research and Programs Compliance; ii) 33% in support of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Manager; and iii) 33% assisting with the development of training materials related to research administration and compliance.
Duties include:
Sponsored Research & Programs Compliance – 33%
- Work with the Director, Sponsored Research and Programs Compliance, to track and process research and sponsored projects agreements
- Respond to inquiries from CUNY campuses with respect to requirements for agreement requests
HRPP – 33%
Data entry related to and management of user profiles and system information for research compliance software
- Respond to general inquiries from CUNY campuses with respect to HRPP policies and procedures via email and phone
Other – 33%
Assist in the development of training materials related to research administration & compliance

Qualifications
Core Competencies / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Knowledge of human subject protection regulations and 2 years of relevant experience required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking, organization and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a broad range of researchers and other diverse individuals in a professional manner.
