General Description

Reporting to the Director for Energy and Facility Sustainability of the Department of Design, Construction and Management within the Office of Facility Planning, Construction & Management, the University Energy Manager - Energy Analysis will be responsible for management of the University's energy program metering, submetering, data collection, measurement and reporting efforts.

 

Other Duties

Among the Managers responsibilities will be to:

 -- Interface with campus operating supervisory personnel (i.e. Facility Managers, Engineers and IT personnel) to gather information regarding various aspects of campus energy consumption, system operations, utility metering and operational databases.

 

-- Manage metering and energy data collection system installation projects; including project site inspections and coordinating project activities with New York Power Authority, Dormitory Authority and campus IT staff.

 

-- Manage CUNY-wide Executive Order 88 data collection efforts including submetering and integration of campus databases for the development of performance metrics. Duties include oversight and maintenance of the Central Office EIS database and webserver.

 

-- Manage CUNY-wide metering and verification initiatives inclusive of mechanical system commissioning audits, virtual retro-commissioning inclusive of day-to-day operation and oversight of monitoring software & databases.

 

-- Provide and analyze supporting data for energy audits and documentation for utility metering, lighting programs and energy performance projects.

 

-- Coordinate with Sustainable CUNY program and CUNY Software Institute to manage integration of central databases with various webservers and to generate performance metrics for campuses.

 

-- On a day to day basis, maintain cost and energy databases to support programs that monitor and assess campus energy consumption against established budget allocations and performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or Computer Science and 3 years’ experience or;
  • Associates degree in Engineering discipline or Computer Science and 5 years’ experience or;
  • 7 years directly related experience
  • Basic knowledge of energy fundamentals – CEM a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access Database software required
  • Proficiency in SQL and SQL Server Technology, Microsoft.net Framework & Industry Standard Networking Technologies desirable
  • Microsoft Certified Professional for Windows desirable
  • Working knowledge of C# programming desirable
