General Description

Queens College is seeking a certified Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time (including benefits)
position reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine, who serves under the Student Athlete
Performance area in the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Duties include, but are not
limited to: general healthcare assistance to 275 intercollegiate student-athletes (injury
evaluations, referrals, rehabilitative treatments); provide necessary practice and game
coverage for all intercollegiate teams (including travel, late nights, early mornings, weekends,
holidays and during inclement weather); develop yearly strength and conditioning programs;
assist in summer camp coverage; and assist with monitoring and maintenance of the athletic
training and varsity weight rooms. As the Athletic Trainer, the candidate will assist the Director
of Sports Medicine with insurance tracking and documentation, scheduling of doctor visits,
assist in the recruitment and scheduling of per diem staffers and sharing medical injuries and
recovery plans with Head Coaches. The individual must have the mobility to do the following
activities: running, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
Candidates must have the ability to lift and/or move heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds on a
frequent basis with or without assistance. Position may require attending national and
conference meetings; as well as performing other duties assigned by the Director of Sports
Medicine.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred). BOC
certification, New York State Licensure (prior to start of employment), current Professional
Rescuer CPR/AED/First Aid certification, a valid driver's license, working knowledge of and
adherence of NCAA rules and regulations, ability to effectively communicate with and relate
to student-athletes, coaches, athletic staff and the ability to use relevant computer software.
