General Description
Queensborough Community College is seeking a short-term instructor for a grant-funded Telecommunications & Broadband Technology program on the QCC Campus. Duties include providing state of the art instruction, maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment and securing positive business and industry relationships.
Other Duties
Broadband Telecommunications Technology provides students with the necessary technical knowledge and skills in communication systems. Students will receive a variety of training in the telecommunications field including: An in-depth knowledge and experience in safety, industry standards, industry best practices, wireless tower installation and maintenance, basic electrical, OSHA safety, and fiber optics and transmission methods.
Content delivery includes introduction to telecommunications, telecom industry safety and best practices, installation and maintenance, antennas and lines, structure, modification, and maintenance and trade certification preparation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Two years of work experience in the specific occupational field
- Required knowledge in the operation of related instructional equipment
- Good oral/verbal communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge/skills required

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
