General Description

Schedule:  Saturdays 10-12 and 12:30-2:30 Fall and Spring.  Summer: First week of July through First week of August. Mondays and Wednesdays 10-12 and 12:30-2:30pm.

Primary Function: Under the direction of Director and the Program Coordinator, the candidate will provide instruction to students in the area of middle and high school math that aligns with common core and regents prep.

Salary: $40hr

Qualifications:   

  • Three years teaching experience at the secondary or collegiate level
  • Familiarity of NYS Learning Standards and Common Core
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate youth
  • Deep rooted passion in serving students and helping them achieve their goals

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director and Assistant Coordinator of the program to implement math workshops for middle and high school students.  
  • Implement learning through the arts and gaming pedagogies in the fall, spring and mostly during the summer session.   
  • Exhibit best practices in classroom management
  • Incorporate direct instruction, discussion, projects and cooperative work to engage students, keep classes focused and infuse a lasting desire to learn
