Description

 

Macaulay Honors College seeks an experienced mental health professional for our Associate Director of Wellness and Counseling Programs. The ideal candidate for this position will have a mixture of strong clinical and program management skills, and familiarity with current trends in wellness, therapeutic methods, and best practices for working with diverse college populations.

The Associate Director of Wellness and Counseling Programs is part of the Academic Affairs department at Macaulay, and reports to the Director of Teaching, Learning, and Technology.

 

This is a limited, grant-funded position through June 2020. Reappointment is contingent on job performance and funds availability.

  • Manage Macaulay’s wellness and therapy services
  • Provide managerial supervision of the Chief of Psychology, counseling postdocs and interns, and organize staff schedules
  • Liaise with psychiatric services
  • Conduct internal assessment and prepare reports
  • Work with the Academic Affairs department on key issues
  • Coordinate with other CUNY counseling centers
  • Shape long-term goals for the center
  • Oversee new initiatives and growth
  • Work with Macaulay’s External Relations department on proposals, funding opportunities and reports to stakeholders.
  • Treat a limited caseload of therapy patients.

 

This is a part-time position, approximately 30 hours per week, with occasional evenings and weekends, making it a good fit for a candidate who also sees patients in their own small private practice. The Associate Director will work with their supervisor to set a regular schedule on a semester-by-semester basis.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • PsyD, PhD, or LCSW
  • 3-5 years of mental health practitioner experience
  • 3-5 years of management or administrative experience
  • Facility with technology, including counseling center software
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as well as be on-call at designated times

Preferred

  • Experience with the higher education sector
  • Necessary credentials to provide clinical supervision to counseling staff
