General Description

LaGuardia Community College’s Division of Continuing Education’s Career and Professional Program (CAPP) in partnership with New York City Small Business Services (SBS), is seeking part-time curriculum developers to develop curriculum for the hybrid Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship program

The learning outcomes for this training will be focused on providing technical and on-the-job skills in the advanced manufacturing field.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed curriculum for the following topics based on the areas of expertise:
    • Foundations: Hand Tools & Power Tools
    • Foundations: Blueprint reading & Blueprint drawing
    • Introduction to Woodworking
    • Principles of Sustainable Manufacturing
    • Welding
    • 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing
    • Metal Fabrication
    • Laser Cutting
    • Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Machining
    • Factory workflows.
    • Use and adapt to Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machinery.
  • Develop detailed lesson plans, PPTs, hand-outs, and other supplemental materials required for the curriculum, so that another instructor could pick up the material and teach it without extensive independent preparation.
  • Meet with employer and industry partner for feedback on the skills, competencies, and credentials required for employment in advanced manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the advanced manufacturing field.
  • College Degree
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex content
  • Exceptional writing skills needed to write procedures, produce comprehensive course content, facilitator, and participant guides.
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Teaching experience a plus
