General Description

The Hunter College School of Education (SOE) is seeking a Program Manager in the Office of the Dean to support two sponsored activities in educator preparation. The Program Manager will provide direct assistance to students, faculty, partner organizations, and the Dean on various activities outlined below.

The Program Manager reports to the Director of the Collaborative for Social Emotional Learning & Leading (C-SELL) and the Director of the Gray Fellowship for Principal Excellence. Both programs are initiatives within the School of Education at Hunter College. C-SELL and the Gray Fellowship focus on transformative professional development and creating supportive, interconnected educational communities. The Gray Fellowship enhances self-awareness and system-wide impact among New York City principals, while C-SELL emphasizes collective well-being using intergenerational team-based models and the transformation of P-20 school cultures through social-emotional learning and the arts.

The successful candidate should have previous experience working with cross-functional teams, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and be able to handle more than one project or program in parallel. This position requires attendance at some evening and/or weekend programs with light travel in the tri-state area. 

Other Duties

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can lead the effective planning and implementation of projects in a collaborative way. Candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Oversee program/contract management, oversight, and execution
  • Own the procurement process and ensure timely processing and tracking of expense reports and invoices 
  • Prepare impact reports following public events, leadership retreats, and school team partnerships. Provide updates on program progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Oversee data collection pertaining to program evaluation and grant activities
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of event/retreat set-up, including reserving space, audio and visual needs, catering, and production of meeting materials, when applicable
  • Communicate regularly via check-in emails to fellows, newsletters to alumni network, and newsletters to friends of C-SELL
  • Collaborate with the SOE's Chief of Staff/Communications Team to maintain web pages and social media presence
  • Assist at on-site and off-site public events, school team partnership days, and retreats
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Directors and/or Office of the Dean

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree in Educational or Related Field Preferred
  • Prefered: Non-profit and/or K-12 school system background
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, details, timelines, and responsibilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational aptitude
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Experience in high-growth organizations
  • Passion for holistic wellness, systems level change, & climate and culture in schools
