Other Duties

Qualified to teach, JAVA.

As an IT Instructor, you will be responsible for classes of up to 25 students. You will facilitate ‘real world’ scenario training, providing students with hands-on education where they will actually perform the skills you teach them in class.

  • Provide quality and technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in lecture and laboratory in the areas of computer programming, (Java, Java Web, Web Services), information technology, and computer systems/applications
  • Prepare lesson plans with reading, activities, quizzes, and tests for students.
  • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the course syllabus and program expectations.
  • Answer students’ questions concisely and accurately
  • Submit student progress reports upon class completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The IT Instructor role, you must have a passion for teaching and experience managing student attendance, assignments, and class participation. We are seeking a strong communicator who can captivate and stimulate classroom audience. You must be able to manage classes and handle typical student issues. Qualified candidates must possess strong decision-making skills and work efficiently with others. Other requirements of the Instructor role include, but not limited to:

  • Experience teaching virtual, blended and in person tech courses.
  • Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills
  • Working experience in both front-end and back-end development-Experience in other Object-Oriented Programming languages and/or Python Programming in Java and related concepts (including but not limited to: constants and variables and how their values are manipulated in Java, program control structures including decision and loop statements in Java
  • Ability to utilize different methods and mediums in delivering course material.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree

Required Experience:

  • Must have 5+ years of Java programming experience
  • Teaching: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Strong Java skills and knowledge (including object and classes, inheritance, overloading/overriding, exceptions, strings, type information, interfaces, collections, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.)
