The Elbaum-Garfinkle lab at the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) at the Graduate Center, CUNY, currently has an immediate opening for a highly organized Lab Manager/Research Associate.
The Elbaum-Garfinkle lab is an interdisciplenary team of scientists studying disordered proteins at the nexus of liquid phase separation and pathological aggregation. Using single-molecule fluorescence tools, material science methodology, and C. elegans genetics, our group probes the mechanism and regulation of protein self-assembly on the molecular, material and organismal levels.
Qualifications: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and post-graduate experience in a molecular biology wet lab is required. Experience with proteins, protein purification, microscopy and/or C. elegans are strongly preferred.
Duties: Will manage and supervise students in basic molecular biology/protein handling techniques in the lab; assist in general lab management, including managing lab stocks and supplies, lab ordering, lab safety, and streamlining lab protocols. Opportunities to contribute to the growth of an exciting new research lab in fast paced research environment.
Applicants should upload a CV and Cover Letter briefly summarizing previous expertise and current/future interests
