General Description
The School Context and Racialized Trust project is a qualitative study led by Brittany Fox-Williams, PhD. The Principal Investigator (PI) is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Lehman College, CUNY. This project is a multi-site, interview study of students and educators at New York City public schools during the 2021-22 school year. Interviews are slated to take place virtually. Study data will primarily contribute to the PI's book project. This study is funded by the Russell Sage Foundation. The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) will work closely with the PI to execute this study. Working on this project will help the GRA develop their qualitative research skills. This part-time position is paid hourly at $25 per hour, 6 to 8 hours per week for about 50 weeks. The approximate start date is July 15, 2021.

Other Duties
The GRA will assist the PI with participant recruitment, interview scheduling, conducting interviews, data management, and qualitative data analysis using Atlas.ti. The GRA will meet with the PI weekly for training and to discuss study progress. To work on this project, the GRA will be expected to complete required CITI training and NYC Department of Education fingerprinting.
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled PhD student in a social science discipline
* Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative research methodology
* Familiarity with QDA software (Atlas.ti preferred)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Interest in social inequality, race/ethnicity, and/or sociology of education
