General Description
The Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRA) will conduct research in empirical health economics with three complementary roles. First, the PRA will work closely with Professor Partha Deb on empirical analysis for a NIH funded research project. Second, the PRA will work on research projects developed collaboratively with Professor Deb. Third, the PRA will develop and work on independently developed research. Involvement in each of these roles will include development of research questions, empirical analysis, manuscript preparation and dissemination of findings.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Economics (health economics), Health Policy, Health Services Research or other closely related fields. The PRA will be self motivated and understand the health-economics / health-policy space well. The PRA will have have the econometrics and data analytic skills to conduct empirical work with complex data and scientific writing expertise to construct research manuscripts of publishable quality.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
