General Description

We are currently seeking a Research Technician to join a research lab at Hunter College, City University of New York, in New York, NY. The Technician will work as part of a molecular, cancer biology team. The lab focuses on research on osteosarcoma which includes molecular biology, live imaging, biochemistry,  animal work and animal imaging. 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Utilize molecular biology approaches including cloning, qPCR and experiments with DNA, RNA, and proteins to support the science of the lab.
  • Animal experiments and animal imaging
  • General lab organization including ordering supplies and submitting bills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
  • A minimum of one year of undergraduate research experience is preferred.
  • Participate in weekly lab meeting to discuss progress and share updates.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate complex assignments on a day-to-day basis.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to perform complex tasks effectively  
  • Ability to follow instructions with an eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
