General Description
We are currently seeking a Research Technician to join a research lab at Hunter College, City University of New York, in New York, NY. The Technician will work as part of a molecular, cancer biology team. The lab focuses on research on osteosarcoma which includes molecular biology, live imaging, biochemistry, animal work and animal imaging.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Utilize molecular biology approaches including cloning, qPCR and experiments with DNA, RNA, and proteins to support the science of the lab.
- Animal experiments and animal imaging
- General lab organization including ordering supplies and submitting bills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
- A minimum of one year of undergraduate research experience is preferred.
- Participate in weekly lab meeting to discuss progress and share updates.
- Ability to manage and coordinate complex assignments on a day-to-day basis.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to perform complex tasks effectively
- Ability to follow instructions with an eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
Must include current GPA and contact information for three references.
