General Description
MHSHS research coordinator (RC) will be be a liaison between Hunter College and Manhattan Hunter Science High School (MHSHS). She/he will mentor high school students from the tenth grade through their first year at Hunter College. The RC will also develop course curricula, assist on teaching two courses at the high school, Molecular Biology of Disease to tenth graders and Biotechnology and Science to eleventh graders, and assist students as they transition from MHSHS to Hunter College.
Other Duties
The RC will also operate and maintain the Research Techniques Facility (RTF) at Hunter College. The RC will further develop the academic year RTF workshop, and supervise undergraduates and MHSHS students going through the RTF workbook.
This is a temporary six month position.
Qualifications
Requirements for the RC position include a PhD in molecular biology and an interest in teaching both at the high school and college level.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
