In addition to managing activity for CUNY, the Research Foundation performs a similar
function for not-for-profit organizations through its GrantsPlus operation. These groups look
to GrantsPlus to provide administrative support in areas where they lack resources or infra-
structure to do so on their own.
The Research Foundation also owns and operates its headquarters building at 230 West
41st Street through a separate limited liability corporation. Our building serves as home
not only for the Foundation but also for CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism, the CUNY
Office of Budget and Finance, and a variety of commercial and retail tenants that represent
an important source of support for the Research Foundation.
The pages that follow offer additional information about the Research Foundation’s activities
as well as the fascinating projects managed by the Research Foundation on behalf of
CUNY’s faculty and staff.
On January 24, 2013, the Research Foundation will mark its Golden Anniversary. In the
coming year, we look forward to celebrating the creation of the Foundation by the Regents
of the State of New York nearly 50 years ago. We invite you to join our celebration.
