Job Title: Faculty Rank – Research Associate or Assistant Professor
Barry Commoner Center for Health and the Environment (BCCHE) at the City University of New York seeks an occupational/environmental epidemiologist to conduct research relevant to the mission of the Center (https://commonercenter.org/mission.html).
The Barry Commoner Center is an environmental and occupational health research institute at Queens College, City University of New York, the nation's largest public university. BCCHE is located in mid-Queens on the campus of Queens College. BCCHE has a nearly four decade history at Queens College and has a staff of 70. The mission of the Center is to identify and help rectify environmental and occupational threats to human health (http://commonercenter.org/index.html).
GENERAL DUTIES
Performs research in area(s) of expertise as noted below. Performs supervisory and other functions as may be assigned.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This person will conduct research on existing large Center data sets involving lung cancer screening, occupational disease among nuclear weapons workers, air pollution in New York City, and mortality data of insulators. The new faculty member will have the opportunity to extend current Center work and to develop new research projects in occupational and environmental health.
COMPENSATION
Rank and salary are commensurate with experience, rank, and academic accomplishments. Salary range is $100k to $150k per year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. or MD degree and training in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted. Also required are a track record of productive scholarship appropriate to appointed rank, development of a research program, ability to secure research funding support, and demonstrated research collaboration.
