General Description

Queens College is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a part-time position reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine, who serves under the Student Athlete Performance area in the athletics department.

Duties include, but are not limited to, general healthcare assistance to all intercollegiate student-athletes (injury evaluations, referrals, treatments, rehabilitation, and record keeping); providing necessary practice and game coverage for all intercollegiate teams (including travel, nights-some late, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather); assisting in summer camp coverage; assisting with the monitoring and maintaining of the athletic training room; assisting the Director of Sports Medicine with insurance tracking and documentation; attending national and conference meetings; and performing other duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.

The individual must have the mobility enough to do the following activities: running, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.  Candidates must have the ability to lift and/or move heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pound with assistance.

 

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, NATA Certification, New York License (prior to the start of employment), current Professional Rescuer CPRE/AED/First Aid certification, working knowledge of and adherence of NCAA rules and regulations, ability to effectively communicate with and relate to student-athletes, coaches, and support staff, and the ability to use relevant computer software.
