General Description

Queens College is seeking a Head Softball Coach with additional duties for future consideration. This is a part-time position, with future full-time dual role opportunities within the department.

This position is responsible for all aspects of the Softball team, including (but not limited to) recruiting, academic monitoring, budget oversight, fundraising, community service, alumni cultivation, supervision of assistant coaches and support staff, and department programming involvement. Basic maintenance and upkeep of the softball facilities and equipment, including, but not limited to, set up and breakdown of athletic equipment and supplies, and game operations set up. The staff member should have experience in operating basic machinery (i.e., field lining, gator), working in adverse weather conditions (i.e., rain, snow, heat), pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds; working nights, weekends, and holidays, and be able to work with a diverse cliental.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred). Candidates must demonstrate at least four years of leading a successful program as a head or assistant coach on the NCAA Division I or II level or equivalent experience as a club coach. Coach must been willing to work on nights, weekends, holidays and during adverse weather conditions. Coach must be an effective public speaker, positive, demonstrate successful recruitment and retention of high academic achieving students. The successful candidate must demonstrate community service and college engagement activities experience. Successful east coast region recruiting is a plus. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and must pass NCAA coaches exam, defensive driving class, and first aid/CPR.
