Position Title: ART Instructor

Schedule:  Saturdays 10-12 and 12:30-2:30 fall and spring. 

Summer: 4 weeks in July. Mondays and Wednesdays 10-12 and 12:30-2:30pm.

Primary Function: Under the direction of Director and the Program Coordinator, the candidate will provide art instruction to JHS and HS students in painting, drawing, sculpting, origami, comic animation, and other related art classes. 

 

Salary: $40hr

 

 

Other Duties

Qualifications:   

- Three years teaching experience at the secondary or collegiate level public/private

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to inspire and motivate youth

- Deep rooted passion in serving students and helping them achieve their goals

 

Job Responsibilities

- Work with the Director and Assistant Coordinator of the program to implement art workshops for middle and high school students  

- Implement learning through the arts pedagogy mostly in the summer session and be a team player   

- Exhibit best practices in classroom management. Take attendance and collect student sign-in sheets

- Incorporate direct instruction, discussion, projects and cooperative work to engage students, keep classes focused and infuse a lasting desire to learn

Qualifications

- Must be able to make a year's committment: Fall, Spring and Summer to have continuity with student cohorts 

- Must be reliable and puctual with a sense of duty with students.
