The Central Park Conservancy Institute for Urban Parks has partnered with CUNY to develop an Urban Park Executive Leadership Program:  a 5-day case-based executive education program which will provide participants with the skills and information to enhance their ability to successfully manage an urban park, leveraging knowledge of the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The Instructor must be able to successfully present materials and cases that share the leading expertise of the Central Park Conservancy and its model of effective urban park management. S/he will be responsible for facilitating case-based curriculum to participants, coordinating peer-based group problem solving, and/or facilitating in-depth subject matter expertise on key topics related to public-private park partnerships. Topics for the program include, but are not limited to: Building Relationships between the Public and Private Partner; Strategic Communications (PR, Stakeholder Engagement & Social Media);  Revenue Generation (Funding & Fundraising; Revenue Diversification & Investment); and Managing the Visitor Experience (Customer Service & Programming).

The goal of the Urban Park Executive Leadership Program is that participants be able to apply the principles of the curriculum and lessons learned effectively to address issues in their organizations or to help public agencies in understanding how to successfully leverage the model. In the longer term, the program seeks to shape best practices in park-based organizations to positively impact the field of urban park management and the parks those professionals manage.  The program will be piloted in March 2018, with a beta launch to take place from January 17 – 19, 2018. The program will be offered twice annually with an anticipated cohort of 20-30 learners.

This is a grant-funded position.
