The mission of Hunter College's PRIDE Health Research Consortium (which stands for Promoting Resilience, Intersectionality, Diversity, and Equity) is to support research to understand the structural, social, and psychological determinants of health disparities for sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities, to investigate the role of gender and sexuality in health, and to design and implement empirically-supported interventions to reduce disparities among these communities in pursuit of health equity. Other Duties

 

Data Analyst: The Data Analyst will be responsible for managing complex datasets for several NIH-funded projects with a focus on sexual behavioral health, substance use and HIV/AIDS. The Data Analyst will be part of Stark’s Lab team and the position requires a strong ability to learn quickly and work independently, excellent organizational skills, as well as considerable strength in working on numerous tasks with similar deadlines. We are looking for a motivated individual to become an integral part of our collaborative team and opportunities for career development and advancement exist. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing intermediate to expert statistical expertise in analyzing clinical research study data using SPSS, Mplus, and/or R
  • Formatting, proofreading, and checking data for federal and institutional research and annual reporting needs
  • Creating and executing data analytic plans, contributing to written sections of grant applications and manuscripts
  • Coordinating data management and cleaning, syntax development, data documentation and tracking with PRIDE’s data-team
  • Collaboration in survey design and programming, including consultation with PRIDE’s data-team
  • Other data analysis functions as needed 

Qualifications

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, health services research, or related field.
  • Familiarity with the generalized linear model – including the prediction of binomial and count outcomes is essential.
  • Familiarity with latent variable, multi-level, and Actor-Partner Interdependence Modeling is preferred.
  • The individual must be able to work independently in a self-directed fashion while managing multiple tasks.
  • Note: applications without a writing sample and a cover letter that clearly delineate research experience will not be considered for review

Salary: Commensurate with experience along with a competitive full-time benefits package.

About the Research Foundation

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) was established as a not-for-profit educational corporation chartered by the State of New York in 1963.
