General Description

A lab technician is sought to work in a biophysics laboratory at Hunter College. The laboratory studies cortical gene expression, activity-dependent myelination, and neurodegeneration using intravital optical microscopy. The successful applicant will carry out animal breeding, genotying, and stereotaxic injection. Basic knowledge on molecular cloning is a plus.

Other Duties

  1. Manage small mouse colony, including breeding and genotyping
  2. Perform mouse surgery, including stereotaxic injection and pre-/post-surgical care
  3. Assist in intravital imaging experiments
  4. Organize and keep accurate record and notes.

Qualifications

  • BA. in biology, bioengineering or equivalent
  • Mouse handling experience
