CHEST is looking for individuals who are interested in an opportunity to be involved in a vital part of HIV research; Recruitment.
As a CHEST study recruiter, you will approach and interact with diverse communities in an effort to recruit participants into our research studies.
As a CHEST employee, you will also have the opportunity to partake in trainings and in-services, as well as foster working relationships with professionals in the fields of mental health, public health, psychology, and social work.
This is a part-time position. Additional hours may be required during shifts at local service and activist organizations in the NYC area.
Requirements:
- Serious applicants who can commit to a minimum of 6-12 months should apply.
- Applicants must be 21 years or older.
- Applicants must have a cell phone.
- Applicants must have regular internet access.

Qualifications
- Applicants should be available to work late night shifts between Thursday and Sunday in the field.
- Applicants should be outgoing, friendly and comfortable with speaking to people about sensitive and personal subjects in bars, clubs, and other night time venues.
- Applicants should have excellent written and oral language skills in English.
- Applicants should demonstrate commitment to working within an interdisciplinary, creative team.
- Applicants should demonstrate commitment to working toward HIV prevention and care within LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.
- Applicants should have Culturally-competent knowledge about the needs and barriers for the LGBTQ community in New York City, though we provide training on these issues regardless of familiarity.
- Applicants should be detail-oriented with a proficiency in using computer programs.
Qualifications that will greatly contribute to candidacy, but are not required:
- Experience working with the transgender and racial minority communities
- Ability to communicate with Spanish speaking communities
