It is mandatory as a BP-ENDURE Scholar:

 

 

  1. To be involved in active research training (at least 15 hours per week) on (a) selected project (s) during the entire tenure as a BP-ENDURE scholar.

Placement of research projects will be made in conjunction with BP-ENDURE Directors

and/or Administrator. Mentors or research projects can be changed only after consultation with the BP-ENDURE Directors and/or Administrator.

Research data obtained from this training may be presented during the BP-ENDURE

Conference Presentation, Honors week and the Psychology Convention

Scholars should register during the fall and spring semesters in Independent Research in their field. At least two independent research classes of 3 credits each are available for you in case you need it.

 

  1. Matriculate full-time at Hunter College throughout the academic year (12 credit hrs.). If registering for more than 15 credit hours, the BP-ENDURE Program must approve it. Please email BP-ENDURE directors to obtain permission before registering.

 

  1. To attend the weekly BP-ENDURE seminars.

It is mandatory that all BP-ENDURE Scholars attend (on time) and actively participate in the weekly BP-ENDURE seminar. A syllabus or calendar of topics for the meeting will be discussed at the beginning of each semester.

 

  1. To attend the winter.

The January Mini-Course is a short course one year on scientific writing and the other year on quantitative science. Because of this obligation student cannot take winter courses.

 

  1. To attend the BP-ENDURE Conference.

Every BP-ENDURE Scholar is expected to attend all of the sessions of this colloquium or an equivalent conference. The colloquium/conference is an excellent place to create networks with representatives of different universities, which may have good graduate programs.

 

  1. All BP-ENDURE students are expected to meet high academic standards and must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 throughout their academic career. Students not meeting this standard might be placed on probation. A student whose GPA remains below the required minimum for two consecutive semesters may be dismissed from the program. 

 

 

  1. All students are required to participate on a full-time basis in a summer internship. Information about possible research placements can be found: in the BP-ENDURE office. BP-ENDURE students cannot take summer classes. Please do not register for summer classes.

 

 

We strongly encourage BP-ENDURE Scholars:

 

  1. 1. To attend a scientific meeting. Paper work for approval should be submitted as far in advance as possible. We will not pay for conferences that are not approved at least one month in advance. Late booking of conference leads to higher transportation and lodging cost. A list of desire meeting/conference should be submitted at the end of each semester.

 

  1. To take the GRE Exam before the fall semester of their senior year and apply to graduate school at the end of the Fall semester of their senior year (see calendar). Students are also encouraged to apply for various fellowships for graduate school. Seniors are required to submit a list of schools they are applying to. They are also required to apply to graduate school or post baccalaureate/prep programs on the academic year they are graduating.
