General Description
The Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training (CHEST) of Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) is hiring for a full-time Clinical Coordinator. CHEST (www.chestnyc.org) is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research center which blends academic and community-based work focused on sexual health, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and substance use. Other Duties
The Clinical Coordinator will work with participants enrolled in various NIH funded research studies that focus on sexual behavioral health, substance use and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. The Clinical Coordinator works closely with the Clinical Director on day to day operations, and will be part of the CHEST Clinical Team. The Clinical Coordinator will deliver Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral interventions in the context of randomized clinical trials and comparative effectiveness trials; assist the Clinical Director and Lead Clinician with various trainings, supervision and clinical consultation with community providers as well as CHEST staff and complete other administrative and project related tasks and duties as required.
Qualifications
An advanced degree in a mental health field (e.g., MA, MSW, ABD/PhD). Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is essential. Previous work providing counseling or support services to the LGBT population, and previous work in a healthcare, medical, or research setting is highly desired. Licensed supervision will be available. Full-time preferred but part-time commitments will also be considered. The Clinical Coordinator will have competence in Motivational Interviewing and the ability to conceptualize cases from a cognitive behavioral perspective; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.); work independently while managing multiple tasks; Training and supervision experience preferred.
