Post-doctoral Fellow Position in Translational Cancer Biology 

A post-doctoral fellow is sought to participate in a translational cancer biology project to investigate the molecular mechanisms of castrate-resistant prostate cancer. One area of focus will involve elucidating the role of, and molecular mechanisms of action of non-coding RNAs. The selected candidate will work in the Department of Biological Sciences at Hunter College.

We seek a highly motivated candidate with a PhD. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to carry out research using cultured cancer cells, and mice. Expertise in gene cloning techniques will be a distinct advantage. A willingness to work with mice is essential. Practical experience in a variety of commonly used cell and molecular biology techniques is expected. Good writing skills is essential.


Other Duties

The postdoc will also have the opportunity to develop new, complementary projects on mechanisms of cancer metastasis.

Qualifications

 
Applicants should have:
• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in Cell and Molecular Biology.
The position requires an organized, creative and motivated individual who is enthusiastic about working in Cancer Biology.
 
The postdoc should have good scientific writing and verbal communication skills.
