General Description
The Hunter College Laboratory for the Study of Youth Cognition and Suicide is looking to hire a temporary part-time Research Assistant to assist with an NIH-funded study examining subtypes of suicidal ideation and cognitive mechanisms that predict risk of future suicide attempts among adolescents recruited from emergency departments and clinics in New York City. The Research Assistant will assist with recruitment efforts as well as with data collection and coordination with the data collection sites. Facilitating recruitment may require being stationed at the data collection site for an extended period of time. Although the primary responsibility will be to recruit participants and conduct in-person and over-the-phone interviews with youths and their parents, additional study related tasks may be assigned.
This is a temporary position. If hired, the appointment will last until the end of March, but there is a possibility the appointment could be extended.
Other Duties
Including but not limited to data extraction, data cleaning, transcription of audiotaped interview sessions, and scheduling follow-up appointments with participants and/or their parents.
Qualifications
Must have a Master’s degree in Psychology and experience with clinical interviews or be a Bachelor's degree recipient currently enrolled in a Doctoral training program such as clinical or counseling psychology. English/Spanish fluency required.
Experience with Microsoft Office, SPSS, Qualtrics, Inquisit, and/or Redcap a plus.
