General Description
One Postdoctoral position is available at the group of Dr. Themis Lazaridis at City College of the City University of New York (CUNY) to conduct research in theoretical and computational biophysics. Specific projects include developing methods for incorporating proton mobility in classical molecular dynamics simulations and investigating the mechanisms of biological membrane remodeling by proteins. This is a one-year position, with an anticipated start date of February 2025. Extension is dependent on funding availability. The candidate should be highly motivated and able to work well independently.
Other Duties
- Conduct research in theoretical and computational biophysics.
- Publish high-quality research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
- Help in the preparation of grant proposals.
- Help in the mentoring of new graduate students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or related field, experience in theoretical and computational research, and a good publication record. Knowledge of Biology is desirable but not essential. Programming skills are highly desirable. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and self-reliant, with good oral and written communication skills and excellent analytical abilities.
