Research Assistant - Center for Discovery & Innovation at CCNY
The lab of Dr. Hysell Oviedo is recruiting a full-time research assistant to support studies on the neural basis of communication. This position is ideal for candidates interested in research experience in preparation to apply to PhD programs in neuroscience. The position is available immediately.

Other Duties
- Supports and performs research projects involving molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, neurophysiology and rodent behavior
- Helps perform imaging analyses using confocal microscope
- Mouse colony management, including genotyping, maintaining, and expanding transgenic colonies - Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents
- Performs related duties as assigned
- May assist in preparing reports of research findings. Intellectual contribution will lead to co-authorship on manuscripts
Qualifications
- BS in Biology, Chemistry or relevant STEM field
- Must be a quick learner who can work independently
- Prior research experience is preferred, but not required
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate experimental need that may occur on any day of the week
