General Description
Research Associate to provide technical support for ongoing projects and should be able to initiate research and development of innovative technologies in order to treat municipal wastewaters, and handle /stabilize the combined residual sludge being produced. Specifically, the treatment processes of interest are in the areas of: Biological Nitrogen Removal (BNR) as applied to the main plant flow and to separate centrate treatment, nutrient recovery, struvite control and/or prevention, anaerobic sludge treatment and energy recovery, optimization of sludge dewatering etc.
Other Duties
The candidate should have earned a Masters in environmental engineering, and must be knowledable on wastewater treatment processes. He/She should be able to function within an academic environment where interaction and participation of both graduate and undergraduate students has to be incorporated in all of the research projects.
Qualifications
A Masters in Environmental Engineering
Must be proficient in Computaional Fluid Dynamics modelingh
Must be familiar with process modeling softwares and process control issues.
Analyzing and reducing data and presentation of data
Report writing.
