Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biomedical Engineering/Musculoskeletal Biomechanics
The Bone and Joint Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the City College of New York/CUNY is recruiting for a post-doctoral researcher to assess bone biomechanical, matrix and osteocyte changes associated with chronic physiological challenges.
We seek a motivated postdoctoral candidate with strong bioengineering and experimental skills, and an interest in applying experimental and analytical approaches to understanding effects of aging, somatopause and other chronic challenges on bone material properties, fracture resistance and overall biomechanical health. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in biomechanics or closed related area and demonstrated experience working with skeletal tissues. Previous experience with animal models, microCT imaging and bone mechanical testing would be pluses. Applicant must have:
- The ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work in a collaborative setting as part of a multidisciplinary NIH-funded program.
