General Description

An NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Vuong laboratory at The City College of New York (CCNY). The Vuong lab examines the molecular mechanisms regulating immunoglobulin gene diversification using genetically engineered mouse models and techniques in molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, and genetics. Additional information about the Vuong lab can be found at www.bqvlab.org

Other Duties

  • Analyze immunological phenotype of genetically engineered mutant mice
  • Culture and genetically manipulate immune cells
  • Perform molecular biological and biochemical experiments using immune cells extracted from mice
  • Supervise and train undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory techniques
  • Present research at lab meetings and conferences
  • Publish research in peer-reviewed journals
  • Write grants for independent funding 

Qualifications

PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field is required.
