General Description
Photonics Materials group at City College of New York is looking for creative and highly qualified candidates fill one full time Research Fellow position in design, fabrication, and optical characterization of topological photonic metamaterials. Successful candidates are expected to have strong experimental and theoretical skills and background in several research areas: nanofabrication, nanoscale optics, plasmonics, metasurfaces, 2D materials, quantum emitters, optomechanics, optoelectronics, or other related topics. Successful candidates should have earned Ph.D. in the physical sciences or engineering related subject, with backgrounds in electromagnetics, optics and photonics, and solid state physics.
The position can be split between two highly qualified candidates with complimentary qualifications in the fields listed above.
Other Duties
Numerical simulations and numerical design of topological photonic metasurfaces.
Nanofabrication of topological photonic structures
Optical characterization of topologica lphotonic metasurfaces and metamaterials
Preparation of manuscripts for publicaion
Dissemination of research at national and international conferences
Qualifications
PhD in Physics, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or related discupline
