General Description

The Khayat group, located in City College of New York, is seeking to to hire an entry to mid-range level technician to provide support for protein expression, purification, and cryo-electron microscopy. We work on a number of projects that include host-pathogen interaction, membrane proteins, and macromolecular machines. Candidates should have a BS or BA in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or any similar major. A one-year minimum of research experience in a laboratory is a must (e.g. honor’s research). Laboratory courses to complete a major are not considered as research experience. Experiments will require strong hand-eye coordination. Use of computational resources is a huge plus but not necessary. Candidates should demonstrate a strong level of independence, self-motivation, and work ethic. Training will be provided where needed.
