General Description

The BMCC Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) seeks a full time Grants Coordinator to join our team.

OSP offers the College community resources and support for grant proposal development and project implementation. We facilitate the submission of proposals and the administration of funded projects to advance the College's strategic priorities and mission to provide instruction, research, and public service.

Reporting to the Dean for Sponsored Research and Programs, the Grants Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the planning, preparation, and submission of (primarily) government grant applications, communicating grant and grant training opportunities, and providing guidance and support to faculty and staff in identifying and repsonding to grant opportunities.

Duties will include:

Assisting the Dean in meeting with faculty and staff to determine funding needs.

Helping to identify grant opportunities.

Providing guidance and assistance in the interpretation of funder requirements.

Advising and/or assisting in the formatting and preparation of grant documentation, to include creation of organizational charts, tables, and/or graphics.

Completing required proposal submission forms and attachments.

Preparing and/or compiling all components of grant submissions, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with funder requirements as well as University and RFCUNY policies.

Developing and maintaning a template library, checklists, and other tools.

Maintaining registrations, passwords, and other requirements for the use of public and private submission portals.

Helping faculty and staff to submit grant applications via pubilc and private portals.

Tracking and reporting on campus grants activity.

Maintaining knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.

Grant writing and research for grant proposals.

Support for writing and submitting annual reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

PREFERRED:

Two years of relevant full-time equivalent work experience performing analytical, administrative, and operational work.

Knoweldge of RFCUNY's academic and administrative processes and systems.

Detail oriented, organized, and accurate with strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills.

Effective writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation skills.

Proactive, flexibile, and customer focused with strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

Strong project management and follow through skills to coordinate work plans, prioritize work, manage multiple assignments and priroities, and meet deadlines.

Organized, detail oriented, conscientious, and possessing excellent verbal and written communications skills.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
