General Description

Upward Bound Workshop Leaders work in a classroom setting to ensure student success throughout the academic year.

 Workshop Leader (English)  will work with Upward Bound students in small groups to improve reading and writing skills and provide academic mentorship. Candidates must be highly motivated, patient, and energetic, excellent communications skills, organizational and networking skills.

Other Duties

Workshop Leader will  deliver academic instruction and ensure proper classroom management;

Conduct workshops on NYS Regents preparation, SAT/ACT preparation  and study skills in addition to other subjects.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a BA, MA ( preferably) with 2 years or equivalent experience teaching  English, writing skills and or SAT/ACT prep classes to first generation students with knowledge or familiarity of NYS Regents or experience.
