General Description
A marine biotechnology/biochemistry laboratory at the City University of New York, Baruch College is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Manager to manage daily operations, and to participate in ongoing research projects in collaboration with members of Baruch’s Department of Natural Sciences, as well as national and international collaborators.
The laboratory is highly interdisciplinary and projects include 1) the study of biofluorescence in marine organisms in efforts to identify novel biofluorescent molecules; 2) the study of bioluminescence processes in native marine organisms in efforts to identify and engineer novel luciferases. The research team is also involved in collaborative projects with the Harvard Microrobotics Laboratory to design novel non-invasive robotic devices to facilitate the study of deep-sea biology. We are looking for a team member to work alongside faculty, graduate and undergraduate students in a cross-disciplinary environment. The Laboratory Manager will have the opportunity to participate in reseach that could result in scientific publications.

Requires a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry or related discipline and laboratory research experience. Master's degree preferred.
