Published on: 11/10/2017

Researchers and scientists from throughout CUNY, New York City, and beyond are invited to visit the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) for its Second Annual Open House.

Date: Thursday, November 16, 2017
Time: 10am - 7pm
Location: 85 St. Nicholas Terrace, New York, NY 10031 (on the campus of The City College of New York)

At the event, attendees will be able to:

  • Take tours of 10 active core facilities - including our 5,000 square-foot cleanroom/nanofabrication facility and new MRI facility - led by expert research faculty;
  • Get involved at the ASRC by becoming a core facility user or an affiliate faculty member;
  • Meet with representatives from the research initiatives to discuss their work and current interdisciplinary collaborations;
  • Sign up to attend future seminars, symposia, workshops, and conferences planned throughout the academic term;
  • Hear from current core facility users - ranging from undergraduate students to research scientists at major corporations - about how ASRC is supporting their work; and
  • Learn how to apply for research funding via the ASRC Seed Grant Program.

The Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York (CUNY) elevates scientific research and education at CUNY through initiatives in five distinctive, but increasingly interconnected disciplines: environmental sciences, nanoscience, neuroscience, photonics, and structural biology. ASRC promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary research culture with researchers from each of the initiatives working side-by-side in the ASRC's core facilities, sharing equipment that is among the most advanced available.

Register here for the event and obtain additional information, directions, etc.
