In addition to his professorial role, Professor Hanley is founding editor of the Journal of Urban Technology. With a $30,000 award from the National Endowment for the Humanities, he investigates how the Brooklyn waterfront is affected by the adjacent city. Still enthusiastic after 25 years with the college, he advises junior faculty, “Identify what you would like to know and be imaginative in seeking a funding source.
