Constraints on Solar System Origins from Experimental and Petrographic Investigations of Primitive Planetary Materials

Professor Connolly, a petrographic investigator of over 20 years, studies the formation of solar systems with his $116,000 NASA award. He reconstructs the earliest stages of the solar system by studying planetary materials. His advice to junior faculty is, “Don’t be discouraged by rejections of grant proposals. Perform your science and you will be able to attain that goal as you continue applying.”
